May 14, 2020 · This Linksys WRT54G was one of the best pieces of computer hardware of its day. But depending what you ask of it today, it can feel obsolete. Remember, when the Linksys WRT54G came out way back in 2002, it was pretty unusual for a household to have much more than a desktop and a laptop, and not all game consoles had network adapters standard. Happily, my Linksys Wireless Signal Booster (WSB24) works fine with the WRT54GS, as do my Linksys 7 dBi TNC high gain antennae. Those devices in the house that are 802.11b-only compatible work fine. The only exception has been my Kingston wireless Internet finder, which doesn't see this network at all.
